To help me go to sleep each night, I listen to my favorite piano music artist: Helen Jane Long. I have my Google Mini play this music for 30 minutes and fast asleep before this time runs out.
Helen's music is full of passion and I often get lost in the piano melodies. I think this why I am to fall asleep so well to her music because I am able to stop thinking and stressing about what I didn't get done today and what I need to do tomorrow. In class we learned that music is the strongest influence on our mood and my sleeping habits are a great example of this. I have now associated Helen's music with sleep so if I hear her music played at anytime, I immediately get sleepy.
Another interesting thing I noticed on my Google Play music account is that they have added a count system so you know how many times you have listened to a single song. (I have added a picture of this screenshot). This shows just how much I listen to her various songs and my clear favorites. The crazy thing is that this does not include any of the times I have listened to her music using any other service...so these numbers could easily being doubled.
I am so thankful for how accessible music is today and especially music that helps take away some of the stress from daily life. If you have not listened to Helen Jane Long, I would HIGHLY recommend it. And if you know how to play piano, learn how to play some her music because it is way fun to play!
