This week in class we talked about what song we were. Scotty McCreery's "Five More Minutes" speaks to me so much! My family lives in North Carolina and my youngest brother being 7 right now. Leaving for BYU 4 years ago was really hard because I felt I was missing out on being a big part of lives and when I do visit, it never seems to be enough time. These lyrics relate to this feeling so much.
However, when you watch the music video you learn this is a dedication to Scotty's grandfather that recently passed away. And the clips in the video makes the lyrics even more powerful. It reminds me of my grandfather that passed away when I was young and reflect on his life. It also makes me think about my current relationships with my family and how I need to do more to strengthen these relationships. I think it is amazing when music influence to take action or make change in their life. This is what this song ALWAYS does for me; what does make you want to do?
